Roman Archaeological Remains in Limenas Chersonisou, Crete - Basilica of Piskopiano

In the village Piskopiano, in the hills above Limenas Chersonisou, a Christian basilica has been identified. It was plundered by the local population and is largely unexcavated. The measurements are c. 45 x 20 m. The church had three naves. In the church a relief was found of an oil-lamp between curtains. Coins indicate, that the church was built in the second half of the seventh century.
