Colossal portrait of Trajan

Excavated in 1800-1803 by Giuseppe Petrini in the area of the Forum. Bought in 1811 for Ludwig von Bayern. Not to be confused with the colossal portraits of Trajan in the Vatican Museums (Museo Chiaramonti and Sala a Croce Greca).
Date: Trajanic. H. 0.85.

The portrait may have belonged to the Round Temple (I,XI,1).
