Mosaic of Mars and Rhea Silvia

Excavated in 1783 in the area around the Caseggiato dei Doli near I,XIX, by Diego di Norogna, a minister from Portugal, and abbot Montanari. In the same year and area a mosaic with the head of Medusa was found. It was sent to Lisbon, and has disappeared.
Date: Hadrianic. Meas. 4.32 x 4.27.
