- Lots of tiny updates, and study of the lighthouse of Portus. The island of the lighthouse has been found in drillings (announced on a seminar at the British School in Rome, March 5). Publication is expected soon.
December 2007
- We added a Tourist guide to the website. Feedback is most welcome.
November 2007
- We added the plates of Maria Floriani Squarciapino's Piccolo corpus dei mattoni scolpiti.
- We added a description of the Porta Laurentina necropolis.
October 2007
- We added a description of the Porta Romana necropolis and a thematical page for the tombs.
September 2007
- We finished the Topographical Dictionary (with the exception of the burial places).
July 2007
- The page about the Caserma dei Vigili (Barracks of the Fire Brigade) was updated.
- We expressed some doubts about the function of the "bars" to the east of the Caserma.
- The page about the Oratorio Cristiano (II,VII,1) was improved.
- We expressed some doubts about the function of the Caupona di Fortunato (II,VI,1) and Ninfeo II,VI,2, suggesting that it could also have been a baptistery.
- We added a list of the main Christian remains described on the website.
June 2007
- To the Topographical Dictionary we added a new interpretation of the Domus delle Gorgoni, namely that it was an office of the Ostian undertakers.
May 2007
- To the Topographical Dictionary we added a description of the Terme Marittime. Blocks III,VII and VIII are now complete.
- To the Topographical Dictionary we added a description of a vivarium to the south of Ostia.
- To the Topographical Dictionary we added descriptions of the Domus Fulminata and Edificio con Opus Sectile.
April 2007
- An improved version of the graffiti-section is online.
- Ongoing discussions about the earthquakes and tsunamis that struck Ostia and Portus. A summary is here.
- The Virtual Museum was completed.
- Added a photo of the field in which the Mausoleum of Claudius might be buried ("The mystery of the round building").
- Major progess on the subsection "The Canal Tombs", Isola Sacra necropolis ("The necropolis of Portus").
- Added an overview of depictions of the lighthouse to the Portus-section ("Portus - The harbour of Claudius").
