TOMB 32

click to enlarge photographTomb 32 has been built between the tombs 30 and 31 and the Via Severiana and lies very close against the road. The grave dates from a later period (end second/ beginning third century AD). The right wall borders tomb 33.
Of tomb 32 only the lower part remained. Also the architrave above the entrance has disappeared.
The burial chamber was only used for inhumation with arcosolia alongside three walls. In each arcosolium three bodies could be buried.
Beneath the floor, which consisted of removable marble plates, formae have been found with also place for three bodies each.
Few traces of decoration have been found.
