Most of the paintings have been taken off the
walls and are stored in the archives
of the museum of Ostia.
The walls also were decorated colourful in contrast to the black-and-white
mosaic floor.
The octagon of the vault was repeated in this floor mosaic.
The mosaic itself is also stored in the archives.
Tomb 55 dates back to about 140 AD.
