TOMB 55 (continuation)

Most of the paintings have been taken off the walls and are stored in the storage rooms
of the museum of Ostia.
The walls too were decorated in a colourful way, in contrast to the black-and-white mosaic floor.
The octagon of the vault was repeated in this floor mosaic.
The mosaic itself is also in the storage rooms.

Tomb 55 dates back to about 140 AD.
