click to enlarge photographOn the ceiling of the burial chamber were twelve panels, depicting the labours of Hercules. Six of the panels, those on the right side of the tomb, have been preserved.
The panels were in bad condition and are stored in the Ostian depots today.
The surviving labours are:
- capturing of Cerberus, the guardian dog
  of Hades,
- stealing of the apples of the Hesperides,
- obtaining of the girdle of Hippolyte (queen of
  the Amazons),
- obtaining of the Cows of Geryon,
- capturing of the Cretan Bull,
- stealing of the Mares of Diomedes.
