Statuette of Serapis (1125)

Found in a shop on Via della Foce, called Bottega di Fruttivendolo (III,XVII,5; cf. Guida p. 20 nr. 8).
Date: Antonine. H. 0.24.
Imitation of a colossal cult statue made by Bryaxis in the fourth century BC for a temple in Alexandria. To his right is Cerberus, with his left hand he held a sceptre.
