Statue of Perseus with the head of Medusa (99)

Found in the Villa of Perseus to the south-west of the Porta Laurentina.
Date: Late first or early second century AD. H. 1.60.
Perseus cut off the head of Medus with a sword that was in his left hand. Behind his right leg is the sea monster Cetus, killed by Perseus to save Andromeda from being sacrificed to it.
