Statue of Venus

Excavated in 1775 by Gavin Hamilton in the Terme Marittime. Shipped to London in 1775 for the Townley collection. Bought in 1805. The arms were wrongly restored by the English sculptor Nollekens.
Date: first or second century AD. H. 1.06.
